STEM Career Showcase

STEM Career Showcase
Fri, Mar 16

03:00 pm - 07:00 pm

The Philadelphia Science Festival is all about bringing people together! Over the years, we've worked with the leading scientific and educational institutions in the city, and now we want to introduce STEM-curious eighth through twelfth-grade students to all that our partners have to offer. Through a series of flash talks by fascinating, wittySTEM professionals about their sometimes strange, sometimes surreal scientific work, the STEM Career Showcase is the perfect way to begin exploring the wide world of STEM careers and learn about the many free camps, after-school programs, and internships available to our city's most curious students.

(P.S. Parents, we’ve got a special program for you from 6:00 to 7:00 pm where you can learn from the experts about ways you can support your STEM-interested student.)

    NAVSUP
A field activity of the Naval Supply Systems Command, NAVSUP Weapon Systems Support (NAVSUP WSS) is the U.S. Navy's supply chain manager providing worldwide support to the aviation, surface ship, and submarine communities. NAVSUP WSS provides Navy, Marine Corps, joint and allied forces with products and services that deliver combat capability through logistics. There are more than 2,000 civilian and military personnel employed at its two Pennsylvania sites, and one site in Norfolk, Va. In 2014, NAVSUP WSS and Independence Seaport Museum announced a new partnership to guide high school students towards STEM-related occupations through their Educating Acquisition, Global Logistics and Engineering (EAGLE) program. EAGLE has since grown to support many community relations activities, including the STEM Career Showcase.
